OF INFINITY "The
essence of infinity" (Female Prog Goth Metal)
(Eigenproduktion/ USA)
This 1999-founded band from America delivers a perfect example of how one should present himself. A beautifully prepared application folder with bios, photos, texts, etc. That’s what grabs your attention first, but then, after one has course his way through the 3 songs a few times, only an open mouth remains, from which an immediate “Wow” springs forth. Here one has the instrumental quality of “Within Temptation”, the ballad-like atmosphere of “Evanescence”, the singing vehemence of “Lacuna Coil”, and one works with orchestral passages that reflect, above all else, penetratingly romantic piano playing or theatrical violin. The guitars, in the totality of full heaviness and very straight performance, indulge themselves in the solace of audacious “Gefrickel” (translators note: all I know is that “frick” means f*ck”....might mean figuratively “fucking around”), remain, however, bound harmonically to the whole. The severity (harshness?) gets lost in a beautiful thicket, whose focus evokes a refuge of silence. Despite a small increase in tempo, “The Voice Without” remains in itself a balladesque memorial. The voice elevates itself crystal-clear, sings directly and abstains from forced opera arias. The guitars also allow doom to reign beautifully in the middle part. The Outro
could serve as a new facet of a modern game clock. The impelling “Shadow of A
Lie” introduces a deeply melancholy wailing violin. The sound becomes more
monumental, the singing overlays an energetic sound and highlights an accessible
refrain. As the crepe is enthroned over the song, the synthesizers successfully
create a warm, almost dream-like atmosphere. The strings (or chords ) don’t
always acquiesce to being in the background, and dissect the scenes with
pleasure in an ominous fashion. “It’s Only For Forever” is a wonderful ballad, serene in its own deep keeling, allowing beguiling emotions to emerge. The feminine canto is exquisitely spectacular and even brutishly striking. Impressive, the effortlessness with which a solemn piano melody throws the strings) and their energetic riffing against the wall of melancholy. Great.
